Pakistan Navy with its inherent flair for disciplined training and over 30 years of experience in the field of education has a vision to help build an educated and prosperous PAKISTAN in the 21st century. The vision is to consolidate all its efforts to create an education system that will be capable of providing state of the art facilities for quality education to the population of Pakistan without any prejudice of class, creed, color or domicile. BIM&CS Islamabad & Karachi were established in 1995 to offer BBA and B Sc (Computer Science) Programs and were affiliated with the University of Peshawar. Bahria Institute of Management & Computer Science started offering MBA and M Sc (Computer Science) programs from the fall Semester 1997. Library was established under the name BIM&CS Library in 1995 and renamed as Bahria University Library on 7th Feb 2000 after the establishment of Bahria University via Presidential Ordinance No. V of 2000. At the time of shifting of library from old campus to new campus building on 14th July 2005. The inauguration of new Library was the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Shaukat Aziz.Now this library has more than 15000 top of the line books, and more than 900 CD’s. Library is now fully automated on Library Software BULIMS (Bahria University Library Information Management System) and fully equipped by latest technology for its security and preservation of material. CCTV is installed and Magnetic Tag System for material security. All Library materials are bar coded and circulation is fully automated. Library Online Catalog (OPAC) is also available on the Internet and intranet. Bahria University Library is also member of HEC Digital Library Program, which is also available within the campus, through digital library the students and faculty can access more than 12,500 online full text journals including EBSCO host, Springer, Blackwell, Oxford University Press etc.
